hi all, need some help had a decorator who was painting the soffits today his ladder slipped and fell from guttering height to the floor, thankfully hes fine a bit shook up but i have splashed paint all up the brickwork and the ladder has slid into and scratched our powder coated matt black door, i was trying to find perhaps a mobile paint repairing that could fix it. I was thinking perhaps wet and sand down and touch up. going to be a pain trying to find the right black, looking on the RAL chart theres a few blacks!!

Rob

Glad the guys ok and the damage isn't too bad. For the damaged powder coat finish, best advise would be to speak to a local commercial curtain walling installer / patent glazing system installer who will have their own repairer. These guys scratch glazing bars all the time during complex installations and will know somebody locally who can do a proper invisible repair.

Alternative would be a 'chips away' type company who will custom mix a paint. The only risk will be an increased colour mismatch as the PPC fades over time.

Good luck.

thanks, yeah i'll try google a couple of local companies to see what can be done. Could have been a hundred times worse with regards to damage and of course he coudl ahve easily lost his life. My wife found out this morning that he doesnt have libability insurance!! apparently it would have cost him £250.00 a year, which using my limited knowledge i reckon anyone to repair that is going to charge in excess of £100.00 for the repair.
Lesson for us also to ask this question when people are working on the house..
