I've always been quite pleased with my car detailing without a machine, but was thinking of trying it. Maguiars do a DA that fits to a household drill....good idea/bad idea?

If not, can anyone recommend a good starter polisher?

Bit of Googling: Dodo Juice Buff Daddy, or Kestral Das 6 Pro both seem ok. Any other suggestions welcome.

I have a Buff Daddy I chose it as it had a longer cable than the standard DA6 models, it was also on offer at the time with some pads.

Any of the DA6 derived models are a reasonable start. When I bought mine I justified the cost with the knowledge that used ones seemed to only be selling for £10-£20 less than new, so if I ever decided to upgrade to a rotary or didn't need it any more I hadn't lost a great deal of money.

Cheers - I actually ordered a Buff Daddy (now, there's a sentence I thought I'd never write!). Looking forward to trying it this weekend. Was thinking of trying with something fairly tame to start, like Autoglym SRP, which I use anyway and a few reviews seem to say works well with a machine polisher.
