I have just picked up a black car and in my garage, somewhere, is a bottle of black coloured polish
Is it worth using, or should I stick with the the Autoglm super resin polish?

Assuming it is a modern car with a clear coat I wouldn't bother with coloured polish.

Have a look at 'Poorboys-Black Hole' it is fantastic on black cars, then a decent wax on top.

Give it a good wash, then a spray of Iron-X, then a rinse, then a clay treatment, then a coat of Poorboy's Black hole, buff that off then finish with a coat of wax.

As you will know black cars are a nightmare to clean and achieve a nice result.

Check out Youtube for vids on the Poorboys black hole.

Is machine polishing out of the question? For me i would rather get the swirls and scratches taken out and then protect the paintwork.

Black hole and other coloured polishes are good if sealed in with a coat of wax on top,

I'm looking into have the car machine polished, there are a lot of swirl marks in the paintwork; once its been done properly I can look after it myself
