MG ZS/Rover 45 leak through seam!
Discussion
Hey guys,
I've had this issue since September and I have finally found the cause, but not the cure.
My MG has been leaking water into the passenger footwell and water is coming in from this join.

This sits behind the bulkhead sound proofing just by the wing/bulkhead join.
Now the quesion is how do I get to the outside of this join in order to deal it?

Am I right in thinking that the upper panel goes behind the lower in that picture? If so, I doubt the water is coming in from that join as it would have to travel upwards to get through the join.
I'm sure you're aware that Rovers of that era are quite bad for leaks so I'd check the drain holes around the scuttle panel aren't blocked first, then sunroof drains. Has it has a windscreen as it could be down to poor fitment or even rust under the seal causing a poor seal.

My ZS is doing this on the drivers side, must have been doing it long before I got it as the I painted metal brackets that fix the dash in place are looking awful! All the seams on these cars are terrible, so little sealer it cracks when the joins flex and allows water, check inside your wings where the chassis legs meet the inner wing panel, I can show you some ZS seam pics that will make your toes curl!
