Hello all,

I want to give my car a quick coating of waxoyl. I have quite a bit laying around and not being used, I know some people recommend other products but since I have this anyway I thought it would be better than nothing.
Now I understand all the prep work etc but im unsure when it comes to spraying it.
I have access to a compressor but am I ok using a regular spray gun used for painting cars if I mix it with about 10% white spirit to thin it down?
Also would a need to use a regulator on the airline and if so what sort of pressure am I looking for as not to fire the stuff at some crazy speed?

I used Waxoyl years ago on my Mini and then you got a device for spraying it which fitted on the can.
I would have thought that a paint spray gun would have too fine a nozzle to get the wax through, and would gum up very quickly. What about a oil sprayer? That might be a better bet.

I just use a simple hand sprayer and thin the Waxoyl with white spirit so that it goes through the nozzle. Easy...

Ahh thanks for the replies. Im guessing the hand sprayer was one of those similar to what you use with weed killer? Think I can get hold of one of those.

Warm it up first too, by putting the tin into a container of warm/hot water for quite a while.

It gets really thick and solid when it's cold, but much runnier and easier to spray when it's warm.

Its solvent is White Spirit. Worth knowing whenever you need to clean it off too. I still think it's as good as most things out there.

Doh. Already been said.
