I have white spots on my bonnet and following a full detail of the weekend doing the following they are still there:-

Wash (Meguiar's Gold Class Car Shampoo, 2 bucket method), Dry, Autosmart Tardis, Rinse, Iron X (Car Pro), Rinse, Clay (Bilt Hamber Soft) , Wash, Polish (G Techniq P1), Wax (Autoglym HD Wax).

This is really frustrating, a photo of the damage is below, its on my Milano Red FN2 Civic Type R. Is there any way to get rid of the spots, its driving me insane?

Was the bonnet like that when you got the car? Anything similar elsewhere on the car? Has the bonnet been resprayed at some point?
Any idea of where & when these appeared or possible cause?
I'd suggest trying a cutting compound - Farecla G3 or similar - on a small area to see if that shifts it. If it doesn't then a bonnet respray may be the only solution.

No it wasn't, its also on the drivers side front wing with the paintwork being great on the rest of the car. It hasnt been resprayed during my ownership, not sure before mind you. I think it may have been water drying on the bonnet on a warm day last year, which is very annoying as I always ensure I dry the car after washing it. I don't have a polisher, I have done mine by hand, would Farecla G3 work by hand? What steps would I take before use, tardis, ironx and clay? If I can't sort it, would a specialist be able to fix it, would think cheaper than a respray but would rather avoid that as well.

If the watermarks have etched, it would need machining or even wet sanding, but probably not a respray.

There is a chance they are just embedded surface deposits though (if you're lucky), in which case a mild acid wheel cleaner or waterspot remover could remove them. Claying may also work. Difficult to say from here. But don't book a bonnet respray just yet.
