I'm refurbing my alloy wheels and have so far sanded them back to bare metal.

I know that you first need to apply an etch/epoxy primer, and then a high build primer. I'm using U-POL Acid #8 Etch Primer and then #5 High Build.

This might be a silly question - but can anyone advise whether I need to then use a standard grey primer from somewhere like halfords on top of this? Or should I just move straight from the high build to colour coats?

no need for additional grey primer

light coat of etch , then 2-3 coats of high build straight on as soon as its dulled over , let that dry a couple of days and then sand it smooth , then on with the top coat
