Powder Coater said my parts were too dirty...
Discussion
I dropped off the suspension A-Arms at the weekend with my local guy.
They haven't been touched in 35+ years, so had accumulated some surface rust & mud, all liberally glued together with a few layers of old and new-ish Waxoyl.
I was originally thinking of painting them myself but getting all that crap off proved too daunting.
I assumed that the Powder Coater would media blast them and that I would be picking them up at the weekend all nice and shiny. But they have called me and told me to pick them up and only come back when they are clean! (in a nice way).
They had used Panel Wipe and a wire brush but got nowhere.
1. Should I find another Powder Coater?
2. How can I get the crap off them? I'm thinking White Spirit, Petrol etc - but if I get them nice and clean, I might as well paint them myself and save a few quid.
