I don't suppose there is anything like this you can buy? I have an old black fiesta XR2, When i use super resin polish and then wax it it looks AMAZING about 2 weeks and a couple of washes the paint looks super dull again, I guess the paint on the car is pretty poor so i am wondering if there is anything out there i can use to prolong the shine without having to keep polishing and waxing it all the time.

Probably worth getting a professional detailer in, get them to do all the hard work....
And then follow their advice on how to keep it that way.

Paint has obviously aged, partially oxidised and probably covered in a fair amount of fine scratches.

It needs a proper polish / cut by the sounds of it.

If you're insisting on a one-hit product, try Meguiar's Cleaner Wax, but really, yes, you need to do a proper detail. Stickign with Meguiar's (I like their stuff), try Ultimate Compound followed by your preferred polish/wax/sealant.

It is ever so slightly abrasive and contains lots of fillers so will cleanse and fill some light defects but offers little protection on its own so needs to be topped with a sealant or wax to effectively lock in the filling properties.

cheers

big thing car detailing.....

decent rinse first - then a proper wash two buckets.....

inspect and repeat if required.

clay treatment to get rid of the contamination that the paint has.

Another proper wash...

Polish - dual action polishing machine youtube it. an eye opener. treat car.

sealant.

Wax - again high quality wax.

car should be looking excellent.

it will need a maintenance wash every few weeks to keep on top of it.

It becomes an obsession.

You can't put a sealant on top of a wax. It won't bond to the paint. But you can put a wax on top of a sealant.

OP, try a sealant ; a wax, however expensive, won't last very long, particularly in winter.

Don't look for miracle all in one products.
They simply don't exist. Nothing that is abrasive can possibly be protective as well.

From Halfords, Super Resin Polish topped with Extra Gloss Protection is hard to beat.

There is your problem.

The paint is likely fubar. A wrap is likely to be your most cost effective solution.

If by some miracle you have some paint depth left you could try machine polishing it as others have mentioned.

You'll likely need quite a heavy cut to start with meaning lots of polishing with increasingly fine compounds / pads.

If you do fix it use a two buckets, grit guards and decent wash mitt going forward.

Give autosmart mirror image a try, not too expensive and is very durable. I use it on my cars as I'm not really into crazy detailing.

Alas there is no simple answer to your question. to get a decent result you need to do three or four stages of preparation. A deep cleanse to see how the paint looks, maybe a full clay to remove any surface contaminants, then another wash and rinse. Now polish, this takes time. Then a glaze, which adds depth to the paintwork but offers no protection, followed by a wax.

Three hours of good work and you will see amazing results. The wax if a good one will last about eight weeks or until raindrops no longer stand proud on flat surfaces. Keeping car looking good is hard work....
