Hey chaps,
I need a spray can making up for a bit of touching up on my VW Golf, colour code is LA7T (United Grey, metallic)
Has anyone used any of the online places to mix paint up for them, if so who and did you get a pretty good match?
Just a bit cautious asking someone online to mix up a colour when they've not seen the car etc and wondering if it would be a good match?
Be good to know if anyone here has used the online places before and how you got on!

If you want a good match take a piece of the car to a motor factor that does paint & ask for an eyematch.
Just had a quick look & I have over 40 different formulations for VW United Grey - all under code LA7T.

Ooo that's exactly what I was worried about!
Right, OK so LA7T isn't a precise colour then?
Thanks Paintman

Yes and no,

http://www.carcolourservices.co.uk/the-colour-matc...

I have a gallery (spray out test cards) of standard shade colours from differing manifactures of paint thats are miles out from each other.

"its an Interpretation of a colour"

BTW the spectrophotometer in the link does not mean an exact match everytime, i used it recently on Audi RS5 for colour match of special colour after the variants where wrong, it was still miles out, used another paint scheme and stand shade was perfect.
