Make a shiny dash matt

Hard, shiny Jap interior - is there a product (not paint) that I can use to give it a low sheen / matt finish?

cleaning with an APC is supposed to cut down the sheen.

iv'e also used one of those cheap-as-chips scouring-pads u can pick up anywhere,in conjunction with APC.A quick,light rub-over should kill the shine somewhat.

You will need to clean it first, I use Meguairs Super degreaser mixed with water. Then dress with either 1z (einszett) or Aerospace 303, applied sparingly with an applicator sponge.
