Beginnings of rust

There are a couple of stone chips on the bonnet which are just starting to get rusty. If I get the bonnet resprayed will that stop it in its tracks, or do I need more work, such as sanding/chemical rust removal etc? Would be a professional body shop doing the work if that makes any difference.

decent bodyshop would deal with the sanding and get it right
