Getting black/soot off exhaust tips.

All four exhaust tips on my car have gone from nice shiny chrome, to a dark black. Washing no longer gets much if it off, especially the two tips that get used the most, but all are bad.

Is there a product that removes it? Tried some silver polish we had and it did nothing!

Autosol and fine wire wool

Spray (or dab) some tar remover on first.

Then 0000 wire wool with a metal polish.

Remove with mf.

Follow with pad and more metal polish.

Depends how bad they are.

Might want to invest in a buffing ball for a drill to help speed it up over elbow grease.

I tried Brasso on mine - had a tin lying around anyway. Works a treat & costs next to nothing.

£2.94? You squanderer!! I imagine Autosol is the best tool for the job to be fair. I just tried the Brasso as it was in the garage anyway, but worth knowing I suppose.

I mostly use it to polish up the end of my bell
