Does anyone have any experience of this ?

https://www.lifeshine.com/

Been offered it on a new car at £470...full inside, outside & glass. Lifetime guarantee etc etc

Given the car has cream leather interior and metallic black exterior was wondering :

a) Is it a good product ?
b) Is that a good price ? (sounds a but steep....what would you expect it to be ?)

If not, who should I go to after I get the car to get something similar done (in South Bucks or East Berks) and what price would I be looking at ?

FYI on who would do it, it' a main BMW dealer

Thanks
Steve

OK now had time to trawl the interweb and pistonheads and it's clear....forget the main dealer, go to a professional detailer who will likely charge a bit more but for a far superior finish !

Total waste of money in my experience with a new Range Rover.

You've already found the answer - basically an old school co-polymer sealant that has been well and truly left behind by the latest ceramic/hybrid coatings, not only that but it is usually poorly applied to unprepared surfaces by the dealership valeters & you are paying a 'premium' price for the privilege.

Enjoy your new car.

cheers

Chris

Just to close this thread, took it to a guy I found through the links on here.

Paintwork was shocking (I’ve written to the dealership) but has been transformed !

It is amazing how badly swirled new car paintwork can be.

What causes the swirls?

Poor washing/valeting methods at the dealership.

It was a pre-reg car so had been in the dealership for 4 months but only had 50miles on the clock so practically new.....no doubt being cleaned by a teenage weekend guy or minimum wage odd job man with no clue..... Detailer said its the worst he's ever seen !

Now I’ve always thought the life shine was total nonsense. However talking to my dealer yesterday - he stated that the warranty is where the value is, ie any stain in the future (milk) etc will be treated by a team of technicians for the life of the car. He even recanted that in one instance a stain couldn’t be removed and the leather was replaced foc

For £400 that seems pretty good value. (Obviously the products themselves are not worth the cost)

Does anyone have any experience with the warranty with lifeshine?

Not sure you mean 'recanted' there, but it may be apt as anything the salesman says about residuals or future values is bks.

e.g. "you've got to have the £2k top-of-the-line hi-fi/nav system otherwise no-one will buy it 2nd hand" - when he actually means is "you've got to have the £2k top-of-the-line hi-fi/nav system as I make more commission on 'extras' than sales, and it will only affect its 2nd hand price by £50"

I buy Lifeshine products off Facebook Marketplace for about £6-£10 for the 1,2,3 bottles, an applicator and some microfibres and use it on my parents cars.

Pre-Lifeshine/DiamondGardSupawk, I used to protect interior carpets and fabric upholstery with a £6-7 spray of 3M Scotchguard. So £12-15 and my time per car.

I know there’s no value in the lifeshine product. The package comes with a warranty that supposedly gives the ability to get any stain sorted via autoglym approved technicians. For £400 I don’t think that’s terrible (esp as I have a newborn in a few months)

So to the original question does anyone have any experience of the warranty ?
