I need to replace some car care bits. Haven't taken a proper interest in this stuff for a while so I'm sure thing will have moved on. My lovely wash pad from Swissvax is now about 6 years old and looking worse for wear.

I wash on the road using two buckets and a mitt. I do have a hosepipe but have to run it across a path. Not ideal.

I don't particularly want a pressure washer at this point as I simply don't have the storage space.

I have seen some stuff about touchless wash, wondering if that is any good and worth doing.

Need a new wash mitt and probably worthwhile a drying towel. I have heard of air blowers but unless they have a 10m lead I can't be bothered dragging the extension lead out every time.

If you folks could suggest a few products and a supplier that would be of great help.

p.s Caring for a 1989 911, 2001 shed Volvo, 2010 white E89 Z4 in that order.

Ta.

Got all my detailing micofibre towels including drying towels and washmit from paragon microfibre. They manufacture the things for some of the big names. You may recognise some of their products (minus the brandname if bought direct). You can order direct from them, which is cheaper than amazon etc. All 70/30 quality microfibre mix.

Certainly seem cheap enough for mitts & towels.
Will get in touch with them.
Thanks

Anybody else got any advice on touchless?

Is a pressure washer required or can it be done from mains?

I thought this place would be full of keen detailers.

If you can run a hose then do that - even if it’s just to rinse the car down - cheap’ish plentiful lubricant is going to beat some fancy chemical out of a bottle. I just use main pressure unless the car is really filthy - not sure how bad this is but i wash the roof first then rinse, windows rinse etc. to minimise scratches.

Okay thanks.

Have ordered a load of bits from Paragon above. Will just do my usual wash process. Seem good value and were helpful when I phoned. Turned out slightly more than I thought as vat added at checkout but still reasonable.

The only thing I'm still considering is some sort of hand pump snow foam.

I have this dilemma now. Some bird has crapped over my bonnet - will run the hose out and rinse the whole
bonnet - then shampoo wash and if required another prep-wash before clay mitt - then some cheapy Turtle Wax!

Have a look at Becauseracecarbox (www.becauseracecarbox.com) You get loads of new detailing products to try each month which means you can try it and then see what you like before ordering a ton!
Paragon are also great for microfibers etc!

Thanks.

Items from Paragon due tomorrow.

Did speak to my detailer about a snow foam option without the pressure washer. He recommended the Gilmore Foamaster.
Had a look at some videos. Doesn't seem to make that much foam and is also quite an expensive bit of kit for what is basically a mixer?

Are they worthwhile or any other recommendations?

I had a Mesto (I think) hand pump snow foam thing that I bought from Polished Bliss before I moved house and got a drive/pressure washer.
