Top coat scratches easier after machine polish
Discussion
I have recently given my tuscan a very light machine polish with the microfibre cutting system, it was mainly to remove some heavier defects.Due to not having a pdg for fibreglass i didnt think giving a full correction was wise. Unless its just in my head the top coat now seems to mark easier. The car has had a full paint in its life but not sure when. I really do not believe i have cut the top coat enough for it to have become thin. Thoughts welcome, thanks
Highly unlikely, probably more accurate is that the old pre-polish surface with its defects were hiding any new ones you were inflicting during washing, waxing or whatever.
Now you have an improved finish with less defects the defects you are now installing are much more noticeable.
cheers
