My car just came back from my local garage for some rattles and squeaks sorting out and its come back with a mark/light scratching up the bonnet. Do any detailers out there have any idea what may have caused it and how much it will cost to sort it, Just a ball park figure.

Looks like someone has rested something on the bonnet which has left those marks. Do you have any polish cos first thing I’d do is just give it a good buff and see if they’re still there. Hard to tell via photos of this kinda mark exactly how bad it is

The only time I have put a car in a garage was for a service whilst still under warranty, never again it came back with a badly scuffed leather Recaro and thousands of grinder sparks melted into the windscreen along with total denials as to how either of them came about!

Looks like something rested and maybe vibrated? (Car started, on idle and thing moved).

It would need to be inspected and then a price given.

Most wont just polish a bonnet and it will look very different to the rest of the car (depending on swirls etc on rest of car)

pay a detailer to flat and polish it out, then bill the offending garage.

Shouldn't cost more than £100.

if you're feeling cheeky get the whole car detailed while you're at it, if the garage is paying.

Thx for all the replies, took the car back in this morning. Thought I should give them the opportunity to fix this. As to cause "well it was probably some muck on the sponge" lol, and the solution "Auto Glym and elbow grease" presumably just in the affected area. The car is just under 12 month old, and this is the dealer I bought the car from, I expected so much more. So looks like I'll do my research and get the car fully detailed myself.

once you do, you won't regret it, a sympathetic mobile detailer should be in the region of £2-300.

I know a great guy if you are in Herts.
