HI all - I'm new to this forum. Nice place you have. smile

My wife has a 17-reg Merc GLC. I certainly couldn't describe myself as a detailer but I do like to clean all the nooks and crannies in her car and my own GL - mammoth task in my case. We both have silver window trims but I cannot remove the spottiness from hers, for some reason. My own are "flat" silver and look fine, although there is some black plastic on mine that exhibits the same effect.

Pic below:

I have cleaned with shampoo, rinsed repeatedly and then chamois'd (what's the verb for chamois?). I'm a bit reluctant to try glass cleaner on it (unless someone advises to do so) in case I make it worse. But I thought if there was anyone that would know, you guys might.

Thanks.

Try solvol autosol on an inconspicuous test area, that might work in this instance.

I think you'll have to live with it or replace. Chromed plastic trim does that and no way back.

If you find a way please report back and let us know.
