Hi all,

I have a 1 Series thats had a long hard life, with VERY grubby leather. I've tried a leather cleaner from Halfords which did clean it somewhat, but there is still loads of ingrained dirt embedded in the leather.

Can anyone recommend any professional-grade deep-clean products that might improve thi leather please?

Photos for horror value...

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Cheers,
Effortless.

First port of call will be a steam clean. Then a decent deep clean with some Furniture Clinic foam and a decent brush.

Once dry and as clean as you need, a conditioner and then a final seal.

Dr Leather

LTT

If you dont want to order online:

AG leather cleaner from Halfords.

Soft shoe brush.

Couple MFs.

Warm clean water in a bucket.

Spray on in a small area/amount work in with brush.

Have the MF folded into 1/4s and turn and use clean side.

Once all dirty throw in bucketbrinse and use again.

Use a clean MF to tidy up and residue.

Do not use an apc or interior cleaner on the chance it may (not will) cause any discolouration.

Take time, dont press or rub to hard as you dont want to damage anything.

Better to use the product twice and have it clean and damage free than scrub it and tear the leather.

Yeah really, i didn't believe it either!

Seen a couple of threads on different forums about this and the results look impressive, haven't tried it myself yet though.

Haven't tried it myself but heard that saddle soap (for horse tack/gear) is supposed to be quite good.
