Repairing small damage to fibreglass parts
Discussion
Evening all,
Hoping for a steer on this issue I have. I've got a fibreglass part, an interior cabin cowl for an MX5, which has a couple of marks in the finish.
There's a small star crack and some pitting from what looks like gaffa tape. Both bits appear to be in the surface only, i.e there's no visible crack or damage to the underside of the surface.
What's my best approach to repair this?
I was thinking rub down affected areas with perhaps 200/400/600 grit, then several coats of plastic primer, rub down with very fine paper, then finish with several coats of satin black.
Not my usual bag so would appreciate any advice!
