Hoping for some advice because I don't know if I've done the right thing. My black A1 has a couple of very fine scratches on the rear door. I'd be very surprised if they're deeper than the clear coat so I thought I'd try some T-Cut ... I know, I know, but I had some lying around (it's the red bottle Colour Restorer stuff). I only spent about 5mins rubbing by hand and I can't say it's had any effect on the scratches. The patch I worked on still looks pretty shiny except at a certain angle where you can tell some rubbing's been going on - it's ever so, ever so, slightly duller, but you'd have to look really close.

So I have a couple of questions.

If I were to say sod it, and just wanted to get the shine back to how it was, what do I need to do? Polish?

If I wanted to have another go, would you recommend carrying on with the T-Cut, or should I try something else? Presumably, whatever I use, I'd need to get the shine back afterwards (as in my first question). I don't know for sure that the T-Cut I used is meant for this kind of job.

I don't have any tools, so I'd be doing it all by hand.

Thanks in advance.

I'd suggest you contact someone that knows what they're about & pay them.

Thanks. If I wanted a perfect job I probably would, but TBH I'm not anal about my paintwork and I'm happy to have a go myself because I have plenty of time on my hands.

If your not one to spend hours cleaning a car this stuff is hard to beat. I’ve used it on a black car and it did remove some light hazing with a bit of effort.
There are better products out there but it’s readily available in most motor factors.
