scratch removal from rear bumper

Hi,

is there any reason why its more difficult to remove surface scratches from black bumper which is the plastic part? im using a medium compound for scratch removal from other areas of the car with no problem, but it doesnt seem to be working the same on the plastic part of the bumper?

any suggestions?

Not sure I understand. Sounds like trim vs paint. Scratches in trim are likely to be much deeper than paint and therefore require much more aggressive correction methods.
