Hi, I’ve had my car about a year now and I’ve noticed these marks appearing on my alloy wheels.

Not sure what they are, they are not scuffs and are smooth to the touch almost as if they are part of the finish.

Not sure what they are or how to remove them...any ideas please!

those look like diamond cut finish and water has gotten under the top coat. sadly there is not lot that can be done without re cutting and sealing them.

Is there anything I can do to prevent it from getting any worse or happening in other places ? It’s not too bad at the moment as only a couple of small marks on each wheel!

You can, by ways of sanding back and re sealing with clearcoat, aesthetically it would look terrible. So tbh I wouldn't entertain that thought.

Having them re cut is about the only method for an OE finish. Other options, if your not too fussed about the diamond cut face, would be to have them either wet painted or powder coated. Which would be a lot more durable than the finish at the moment.

You say you've had the car about a year - is that from new? If so, I'd investigate if this would be covered under warranty. The first image in particular doesn't look as though there has been any damage to the surface of the wheel such as kerbing. If this has occurred without damage after a year I'd think there'd be good cause to claim the coating wasn't fit for purpose.

I take it the wheels have been refurbished at some point? It's water under the clear coat and I don't think there's much you can do other than to get them referred again, though there's every chance the problem will return.
