The rear seat of our family estate has become so rancid I fear social services may get involved.
Seems to be levels of grease and dried fluids that have left revolting stains. It's never been cleaned, only hoovered. But I need to now attack it with the best cleaner I can.
Is it worth going to Halfords for something specialist or would a household cleaner be better for this. It's an old car so I'm not that concerned about using an aggressive cleaner.
Any recommendations, I'll be sure to post a follow up to show how it worked out.
Cheers

Only fire can fix that.

Last time I dealt with something that bad I just removed the seat and jet washed it, assuming you could live without the seat while it dried.

A wet/dry extraction will take care of that,

Remove the seats, scrub with washing up liquid, jet wash and allow to dry.
Easier in the summer as you can leave them outside to dry.

Liberally spray the seat with Autoglym Interior Shampoo. Then wash with a wet vac machine using lukewarm clean water in the machine until the fluid being sucked out is clean,. leave to dry. Every mark will be gone and it will look and smell like new.

My seats were far worse than that (previous owner had three kids and dog). Gave them a jolly good try but couldn't shift in the in built grime. Found a guy locally who cleaned the whole interior including headlining and carpets for £80. Best money I spent and interior was as good as new. Sometimes it's just easier to pay someone and not have the headache.

If you want to DIY buy a H20 X5 steamer, alternatively spend the same sort of money and get a full interior valet carried out with a trusted valeter local to you and keep on top of it from there.

Same question but for dried milk (it absolutely reeks). Seems to have puddled under the car seat and solidified !!
Went at it with the Vax wet/dry, but didn’t shift it.

Autosmart do a product called Biobrisk - a liberal application of this and left for a while to break down the milk before sucking up with the wet vac. It may take more than one go.
