Odd question, tried to find the answer but I might have been asking the wrong question of google.

Basically there's a car I like but it has matte paint (factory). Not an issue as I will be wrapping anyway. My question is, is matte paint wrapped ok like the usual gloss paint finish? I assume so but just wanted to double check.

Cheers!

With clear over base colours the base coat (the colour coat) dries matt & the lacquer protects it & provides the shine. Unless the lacquer has a matting agent added.
Assuming the outer face of the wrap is shiny I'm guessing that using a clear wrap over yours would have much the same effect.

Forgive my ignorance but I'm not quite sure I understand your response? The wrap I'll be putting on the car will be another colour as opposed to a clear wrap as you mention?

Ah. I thought you might be looking at applying a clear wrap to make it a shiny car of its original colour rather than the matt.

I'd suggest you look for a wrapping firm that's done one for tech advice.
Can't make any recommendations as to who that would be but perhaps someone else might be able to.
