Hi guys,

I've recently acquired a 2010 Mazda 6 2.2 TS TD

It has some minor (branch/key) scratching on the bonnet and side doors and the paint is looking a little tired (it is a metallic gunmetal grey colour).

I haven't really the foggiest about where to start with getting the paintwork looking back to its best again! There are so many products, and so many combinations of those products!

Any recommendations about products and the order/specifics of their use would be fantastic. This includes shampoos and mitts etc.

Many thanks in advance!

James

Bilt hamber auto wash is very good and goes a long way, I just use a cheaper Kent noodle wash mitt but change them quite regularly.
This will help regarding scratches, the machine makes car polishing very easy.

Thank you for your response! I don't have the money to buy a DA polisher at the moment, so I will be doing the detailing work by hand... I will definitely be saving that thread for reference when I purchase one next year! smile

Halfords sell the autoglym range which to be fair is all most people will ever need.
I used it for years until i started reading detailing forums which was a mistake!
The resin polish is very good and easy to use.
