That's a smart repair if you ask me. somewhere about the £100 mark I would guess.

I was told the going rate for insurance panels at the moment is £400 per panel. I'd say smart repair as most of the others have said here, would be cheaper & easier.

Yep Smart Repair would be my first avenue. In fact, touch-up paint and a machine polish would do that well enough..

No, no, no, no and no.

Don't go anywhere near "touch-up" paint. It's not your car, get it done properly.

Thank you for the suggestions and yes I had admitted liability for this hence will need to fork it out

laugh

Obviously you wouldn't just do it, but if it was old car that the owner didn't really care too much about they might let you get away with that.

We've had old cars in the past with little marks like that, my sister's first car was similar.. Only a cheap runaround but I managed to improve a lot of these kind of marks with some OEM paint sprayed into a can then applied to the dots where it'd gone through the paint, then a machine cut and polish over the whole area to 'blend' it together, made a bit improvement for very little cost.

You've acknowledged that you damaged her car, she must be fit?
Anyway, looking at the two totally different shades of silver, bumper to wing, I'd say it's not the first time she;s been bumped.

If she takes it to a bodyshop, theres two panels to be painted there so i'd say £350-400.

You might want to guide her down the smart repair route but i'd say she'll just go to her local bodyshop unless you can dissuade her.

Yes, but he's also acknowledged he doesn't know how cars work and has therefore lost all man points. She probably thinks he's gay and would make an ideal cat sitter while she dates a real man.

she had gone to a body shop and was quoted £300 and since she was unwilling to go the smart repair way I had to fork it out

I'd have been budgeting the £350-400 and thus quite pleased i got away with £300.
