Wipers / windscreen squeaking like mad :(
Discussion
Since I bought my 2000 Clio the wipers have made an absolute racket, squeaking and reaching a horrible crescendo with every sweep.
I've tried changing wiper blades to the flat modern ones and it still does the same thing.
It's really grating.
I've tried RainX and glass polish, still no good.
I can't see how it's making such a racket, it's horrible.
Any advice please?? Thanks in advance.

Rain repellent and windscreen wipers don't really mix. I'd use some harsh chemical to remove the rain repellent first.
How clean is the screen? Are there marks on it? Mine had some residue (like water spots/stains) on it, and the only thing I've found that will get rid of it is barkeepers friend. Wipers seem smoother since, but YMMV.
Alternatively, I think there may be some sort of (silicone based?) detailing product that you can put on your wipers. I can't remember the details, but you could try detailing world for info.

This is going to sound ridiculous but are they the right way round ?
No word of a lie I was going through the same thing. When I bought the car the blades juddered so I bought new wipers about 18 months ago, however the problem was still there. The right was fine but the left side was juddering. I decontaminated the windscreen. Nothing. Applied some wax to the wipers which helped for a day or two but problem came back. So I lived with it for over a year. Driving in the rain became a real pain. But literally just today I thought, ''Hang on, is the left blade positioned correctly ?'' Turned it around, hey presto, no more judder... What an idiot
