Car Drying - Blower Vacuum Type?

Anyone using a car dryer/blower or any recommendations. Someone mentioned a dog dryer or a cordless leaf blower.

I was looking at getting one but was put off by the £300 price tag.

I ended up buying a compressor for SGS Engineering and a load of other kit including airtools for the same price. I can actually use it for loads of other jobs then.

Maybe not to everyone's liking but does the job for me.

does the job very well

but you need batteries and a charger with that one at extra cost

I bought one of these about 3 years ago, still going strong and does the job just fine - not to dry the whole car (quality drying towel far more effcient), just to blow water from all the moulding's, mirror casings, door shuts etc.

Thanks - that was the one I was looking at - you reckon no good for the whole car though? Any downsides?

Well you can dry the whole car with it but it'll take ages, even if the car has a ceramic coating. Any reason you want to go down this route as opposed to a quality drying towel?

Even with a good quality drying towel you are always at risk of scratching or swirling the paint if you are physically coming in contact with it. ( no matter how careful you are )

Even a cheapo leaf blower is a good option if you wanted a blower , but i do find a towel more effective , even though not totally safe.

I'm using microfibre at the moment, but thought less touch would be better. I've ordered on of the dog dryers off Amazon and see how it goes.

I have one of these pet dryers. They work pretty well.. Especially getting wheels dry and those areas that typically hold water, like under wing mirrors and door sills. I will always finish off with a drying towel..

I tend to use it more in the winter. If you are in a hard water area, before careful to not dry the car too closely, as you will spend hours drying to get water-spots out..

I use a Metro Blaster Sidekick blower that was designed for drying motorcycles. It does an excellent job on any car, you just need a decent length of extension cable. Costs around £85. Well worth the investment.
