Hi

I have a lease car going back in about a month with a couple of annoying light scratches and dull areas around them.

Having searched and failed with finding a reasonable solution so far I am looking for a bit of advice...thanks

Worth trying some meguairs scratch x, usually get pretty good results with that by hand.

That location at the top of the door is unlikely to smart repair well, so the choices are either paint it or polish it.

Given the cost of painting it, I'd be inclined to polish it as best as you can and then leave it. Whoever comes to check the car may well note it on their appraisal but that doesn't automatically mean it will be chargeable.

I believe most leasing companies don’t expect perfection when they go back so a little bit of minor damage is unlikely to phase them. If you suspect that they might charge you for anything then it might be worth trying a black Sharpie pen on the scratches and even the one top of the door.

Do they assess it on collection or back at their place. If the former you can make sure the car is wet when they arrive (you were just washing it). I’d also take some flattering photos before it goes so you might have an argument if they come back to you.

Scratch X will take the majority of that out

Thanks for the advice so far, looks like I will try a little bit of a combination. Although my first attempt with a “nano cloth” has ended up making it look dull and probably worse...will have a look into the mention products later.

Non of what’s been said is any good meguiars compounds are crap there designed for someone with zero experience so have little bite to them . You would be best with a proper rubbing compound like “roar”
And a good dual action polisher then a wax you can’t compound by hand !! My 10 pence worth
