Alloy wheel refurb
Discussion
Hi Chaps
I need to get 4 x BMW E46 wheels refurbished.
This is just due to kerbing by a previous owner.
The car is not worth a lot but want it cosmetically excellent as it is soon to be sold.
I called by a place yesterday and they would charge just shy of £400 to do the job and I have no doubt that they would do a great job.
The issue is that £400 is to much to spend on a car of this value.
Can anyone recommend either a cheaper place or maybe a mobile repairer?? I am base in Sunbury on Thames, Middlesex and the wheels are 17 inch.
Cheers

There are different stages of repair. For that price, I would expect a complete refurb back to new condition.
I've been quoted cheaper alternatives but IMHO the pricing wasn't that much of a saving (25%-30%) and they alloy repair wasn't guaranteed to last i.e. there would be some discolouring after 3 months.

It sounds like you just need the faces done as opposed to a full refurb. There must be loads of local 'smart' repairers or indeed bodyshop's who will do this for c.£40/50 per wheel.
cheers
