Been talking to people that tell me grey cars are not very forgiving when it comes to scratches ?

typically darker colours show them worst

In my experience black shows up everything. Silver hides light scratches the best.

White hides most things!

Darker colours show them up the most with solid black being the worst.

My last car was an ex-Police Ford Granada Mk2. In white.
If I was buying a new car (as in brand new, not 'used but new to me') I'd go for solid white every time.
