Fibreglass Front Wings - Paint Finish
Discussion
Hi Chaps,
We have an old 2001 Nissan Terrano which is used for towing duties a few times a year. The front wings are a notorious rust problem on this car, and ours is no exception
Second-hand panels are scarce, and all seem to have varying degrees of rust. New wings are about £300 each, and no pattern (steel) versions exist.
There are, however, some fibreglass wings available - though what their quality/fit/finish is I can't say (only seen them online).
So can a half-decent paint finish be obtained on fibreglass panels by "DIY methods"? The wings are bolt-on jobbies, so spraying could be done off-car under cover. I'm not after perfection - just something less unsightly than 50% rust scab coverage!
