Number plate anti-theft bolts
Discussion
I read in a magazine recently that you should consider replacing the numberplate screws with anti theft ones.
Any ideas of any good brands out there - and are they effective.
some look a real pain to remove - is this the case. What happens if your number plate breaks and needs replacing?

Had some fitted to a Full Fat (by the dealer, unknown to me).
Went to put private plate on and had no idea how to remove said bolts.
Spoke to my local garage man who told me to use mole grips, which would of course muller the bolt and scratch the plate.
I did this, got them off, and of course the bolts were ruined as was the old number plate.
I’m sure scroats will know a quicker way though..

Can't see it being worth it.
As soon as the plate is nicked the police are likely to be notified so the scrotes will just get one made up for a few quid if they want to do any cloning.
Don't think for a second that the palaver of turning up somewhere to get a plate made with a V5 and loads of ID applies to criminals. It's just there to inconvenience the law abiding.

Many years ago I had a "mate" who thought it would be funny to unscrew my rear number plate and then put it back on upside down. Luckily I spotted it before driving off.As soon as the plate is nicked the police are likely to be notified so the scrotes will just get one made up for a few quid if they want to do any cloning.
