Some time ago my SLC was keyed on a few panels:

Not the best of pictures but you get the idea. No scratches are beyond the primer. Boot lid is done too.

With Goodwood Open Day around the corner I need to address these, but right now cannot go for a full respray - there are a few other things to attend to before I embark on that route.

I have very little experience of bodywork but have been recommended that a SMART repair my be the best way to go at this point in time. Any thoughts or insight welcomed. There are also several body shops around where I live but I have not had the chance to visit them yet. I am in London if anyone has any recommendations vaguely in the area.

Thanks in advance.

Any decent detailer should be able to improve that, the rear quarter might even come out. Under no circumstances let a smart repairer near it.

If the $h!ts that did this realised how much pain and ££££s worth of damage they had caused they might(?) think twice before doing it again!!!

Unfortunately silvers need to be blended 'far and wide' - and there's no short cuts.
Any Smart Repairer with a good reputation to uphold should tell you -
"Sorry mate …… but it's going to be a job for a bodyshop ….. and it's going to be expensive!"

Each damaged panel will need re-spraying - and then to ensure those panels aren't miss-matched each adjoining panel will require 'blending in'.
What With the panels being so large it's going to be a big job!
Sadly …. to get it done properly I think you'll be looking at a cost of around £1k

Sorry to give you the bad news …….

Not at all - I asked for it and appreciate the reply. To be fair I contacted 2 SMART repair guys yesterday and both have more or less echoed the response you said I should get from them. Taking the car to a couple of places tomorrow morning so we shall see what's what.

Thanks again to all.

I can only echo the other poster. Get a proper detailer to have a look at it first to see what can be done as a short term fix until you bite the bullet and go for the respray. I know a good chap in Essex (Rayleigh) if that's not too far.

Nope, not unless you also make them pay for the repair and break all their fingers.

Even though they will probably be under-educated underclass scum, they will surely be only too aware of the consequences to their victim and it is the reason they do it?

My missus's Lexus suffered similar damage about 10 years ago. Ended up having it more or less totally resprayed and claimed on our insurance.

Realised I never gave this thread closure. In the end only a respray would work. Looks great now though. Thanks for those who helped with advice.
