last week you guys were great when I was searching for some cleaner for wheels and general bodywork, hoping you can help with my next quest, does anyone know of a relatively cheap trim protectant, something that I can spray under my cleaned wheel arches, just to make the plastic shine and look new ? something that comes in a 5ltr would be ideal, and cheap for obvious reasons

any recommendations would be much appreciated, thanks for reading, and if you can comment, thanks for your help smile

I accidentally found out that a DA can clean up faded plastic trim really well. I then use olive oil to bring back the colour as after a lot of research i came across some findings that the fading can be due to the oils in the plastic coming out. This may explain why using a heat gun on low heat works only so many times as it draws out the oils deeper within.

If really bad then several applications of olive oil may be required over time to let it soak in. Not sure about protection products though.

Instead of going for 5L of rubbish, how about 100ml of some permanent stuff? Gtechniq C4 is what I use and it's exceptional

If you're a car dealer or the like and just need 5L of rubbish then the 5L stuff tends to be much of a muchness given the formula is the same and it's just silicone plus other stuff

Thanks for the reply, I reckon the cheap stuff is all I need, after all, it’s only a lick of spray into the underside of wheel arches, it’s not a car on display, it’s driven, so needs doing again the next time it’s washed

Ah yes sorry I missed that in your original post.

The 5L stuff will be perfect then
