Really strong tape to put under little rips in fabric seat?

Im selling my old peugeot 205 convertible. Interior is perfect apart from a rear seat bottom section.
There are about three inch long really clean tears running along the grain of the fabric really close to each other, so clean tears that they'd probably be unnoticeable if supported underneath by a strong tape of some sort,to stop the tears spreading, is there such a thing? Thanks.
