Was miffed to find this big dent on my car this morning;

Too big for a mobile repair or possible? Also, I wonder what caused it. No loss of paint and I don’t remember hitting anything, perhaps someone fell on it, wheelie bin in wind? Curious.

Rear door will want blending,

Some of the mobile guys now turn up with a blow up garage and could do it, but ideally a body shop job.

The crease lines along the door will have made it strong meaning it took a lot of force to dent like that.

I'd guess a wheelie bin wouldn't have been heavy enough to do it. Must have been another car. How? Dunno.

Looks like someone’s had a good kick at it.
That to me looks like a body shop job and probably needs a new door!

I wondered the same. The one under the handle could be a knee maybe. Or the end of a lever.

Question; if the door handle was pulled hard enough (without coming off) could the door in front of the handle buckle like that?

Check for leverage damage to the back of the door handle.

I've seen some pretty big dents being taken out with PDR on YouTube. I wouldn't rule it out until you've spoken to a few specialists.

Coincidentally, that's exactly what is cost my wife when she wrote off the wing on her Civic - new wing and blending into door etc.

Unfortunately a new door is the best method of repair

Damage where it is, would render a repair suspect as when the door handle is used there is always a bit flex on the door in this area, this could lead to a crack in the repair material after awhile.

Ah that's why it was expensive,it was an insurance job,that makes a big difference to the price.
Going back to that £ 1,500 pdr job on the 911.
He could have had that panel beated,skimmed and painted for a 3rd of the price, I'd have charged £500
