Kink in 2k gloss plastic trim
Discussion
I've recently had a plastic trim hydrodipped in carbon fibre pattern with a 2K clear coat on top. It looks absolutely amazing and super shiny. But when assembling everything back. Silly me, I over-tightened a screw underneath that retains the trims together. At first I didn't notice as everything looks spotless. But few days later sitting in a certain angle I noticed a little buldge line. Upon inspecting it further it's approximately above the screw underneath. So i'm sure the screw has caused this. The panel has a thin metal in in between the top plastic and the bottom plastic. So the screw hasn't actually punctured or cracked anything. The carbon texture and the gloss everything is still intact. But it's just created a little raised line in that area. Most of the time it's not visible and in certain angles you can see it. I tried taking a pic but it's impossible to picture it.
It's probably visible because it's so shiny and the light reflecting on the surface distorts as it shines on it. So i'm wondering if wet sanding it a little and polishing it in that area might help?
