I have an old Toyota I would like to give to my nephew as a gift, it will be his first car however it has some damage to a rear panel, would it be ok for me to remove the panel, have it resprayed to match the colour of the car and then put the panel back on to the car? Or would this be too much work?

Oh maybe should I take it to a garage to be done?

Depends on the damage I would say. Maybe worth considering a smart repair? They can do some pretty impressive work without even removing panels. And all on your drive / the roadside.

Ok, I never thought of that, thank you. The panel is relatively small but quite a few cracked in it, could a smart repair, repair this? Thank you

I honestly wouldn’t be able to say, even if you took a photo, but most of these chaps will give you a quote online / over email from photographs you take so it’s worth finding ones in your area and getting a few quotes.

If you want the colour to properly match the rest of the car, the panel will need to be painted whilst on the vehicle.
