Is it just "bad luck", or is there a reason this is happening?

For example, if I didn't have off-road parking and had to find a space on a crowded residential street full of people who don't give a st, I think I'd reluctantly have to accept these things come with the territory and not bother wasting money fixing if it's just going to keep happening again.
