suzuki swift 1.5 vvti i need wheel help !!!!!

I have recently purchased this car as a project...… I am really struggling even after scouring the internet and trips to alloy superstores to find out if this car will take a 205 45 17 on alloy ??? I know it will take a 205 40 17 but I cant find out, and nobody even the experts seem to be able to give me this info. id really appreciate if anyone could give me this info. thanx baz.

That is naff all difference.

Unless it’s extremely lowered you won’t have a problem.

The setup of the sport version is pretty much the same and I think the standard size is 195/45/17. 205/45/17 is the preferred swap for those.

If you are using Sport alloys then 205/45 is fine. If you are using some random aftermarket wheel with incorrect offset then 40->45 could be the difference between the tyre almost fouling, and fouling

hi the swift sport wheels fit are 195 45 17...….. do you mean to put a 205 tyre on this wheel ?

Yes, many owners fit 205/45 tyres to the sport wheels as the choice of 195/45 tyres is quite poor.

And do you know if the arches on the swift vvts and swift spirt will be same dimensions so I can fit a 7j x17 with a 205/45/17 tyre ? I’m really struggling to find out this info thanx

May I be the third person to ask whether the OP is using the factory alloys or aftermarket?

The front wings on the 2005-2010 Sport are the same part number as the 1.5 GLX / VVTS, so the arches will be identical. It's extremely likely the rear arches will be the same too, but they aren't separate panels so can't compare part numbers.

The issue you may have is that the Sport uses five stud wheels, not four. I have seen 1.3/1.5 Swifts with Sport wheels though, presumably the hubs and brakes were also swapped.

the question I should be asking maybe cos ur replies are stty..... were not all pro’s pal.... as I stated “first project car”.
I am a novice and came here looking for a bit of info off people with the same interest not bell ends trying to make you feel small with empty replies. Thought these forums were for help and support but u always get one.

As Limslip said in the fourth post, it will all depend on the ‘offset’ of the wheels you choose to fit.
