Hi,

Considering buying one of these and testing it out on the E46 shed.

Any suggestions? Nothing too fancy but also not totally crap.

Do you need to use special 'rotary' polish on the pads or just the regular stuff you'd apply by hand?

TIA. smile

DAS 6 Pro is normally recommend for beginners. I bought one off the back of this:

Makita 9227CB if you are looking for a Rotary - it'll go on forever.

DAS6 or the dual action from Excel Detailing Supplies if you want to go down the Dual-Action route.

Cheers,

Chris

If you a newcomer to this then I would suggest a DA rather than a rotary, easier to work with and you have less chance of damaging the paintwork by polishing in a single spot.

And yes you can use normal cutting compounds.

I just ordered Poorboy's World Dual Action Polishing Machine 900W from motor geek along with pads. I just polish for fun so happy with a basic polisher.. Dial action means less chance of damaging paintwork

OK lads, I'm going to order the DAS-6 (yes forgot about all this!)

Best source to buy? Looks like I can buy the machine on its own for £119 on eBay.

The same place does kits, Meguiar's, Chemical Guys & Angelwax - which is best?

EDIT: Here's the kit options: https://a1detailing.co.uk/product-brand/das-6/

Menzerna pads vs Hex Logic pads?

I don't need anything too fancy, just to take out swirls/light scratches.

Opinions welcome

TIA smile
