Hydrate 80 Question

I am currently sorting out some rust on the chassis of a Ford Mondeo, all it is is a few bits of surface rust here and there. Hydrate 80 looks the job for me.

Once I have applied the Hydrate 80 does anything need to go on top of that or is it safe to be left as it is. It’s an old car and if I can save some time and money then that would be advantageous. If I have to put something over the top then so be it, what would you recommend? It is literally 4 or 5 patches underneath probably 10-20cm in size at the most.

After Hydrate 80, you need to prime, paint and stonechip / underseal. As I read it, Hydrate 80 (I'm using it on my Audi at the moment) is designed to kill the rust, and it might seal the surface, but it still needs covering. I have read people who stonechip directly over it, but I don't fancy that unless you can do a very thick coating.

If it s just a few patch's areosol primer and stonechip to go ontop

My experience tells me that you need some type of anti rust primer on top. Then most of these need a top coat.

I would use Buzzweld Rust Encapsulater as the primer, however you may as well just use that instead of the Hydrate 80. It doesn't need a top coat, but I've heard it's a bit soft, so really needs a top coat for underneath.
