Could a poor previous paint repair be smart repaired?
Discussion
Hi Everyone,
Back in February I bought a used car from a dealer, it’s a 65 Plate with 65k. I bought it unseen but had a relative look over it as it was 300 miles away. He said it was fine so I went ahead.
Car was delivered and i drove around in it for 2 weeks, it was actually a friend that asked if it had a repair! I hadn’t noticed it, He noticed a slight difference in colour from the C Pillar to the rear bumper. On closer inspection it has at some point had some paintwork, and the colour is not a perfect match. Fine, it’s a used car these things happen. It’s across the C Pillar to the rear door on the drivers side.
My biggest issue is where the window seal meets the door C Pillar. They didn’t bother to blend it whatsoever. Just a solid line that can be picked off with a fingernail! The rest of the paintwork it actually quite well done it’s just this area they skimped on.
Obviously I would like this sorted, I don’t want to completely redo the job. Could a good smart repair blend this in?
Thanks.
