As title.
How much should I be paying?
I want it to last a long time.
Unfortunately my car is Black so any marks or dirt are very obvious.
I have a few Water marks I can see.
Its also quite large, so top price I guess.
Any one have any experience or comments?
Thanks

I used carbon collective platinum series to do our new car, cost about £100 for wheels, glass, trim, and bodywork coatings. It isn’t hard to do however the time is in the prep work, especially for a car with miles on. They have tutorial videos for it. Good luck.

Thank you.
Quotes so far have been between £200 to £300 for everything. I really dont have the time to spend on it. And I'm hopeless at bodywork!

If you haven’t the time then £200-£300 seems reasonable. You’ll be looking at a minimum of 2 hours to do it yourself anyway depending on the prep needed.

It depends how bad your paintwork currently is in terms for marks and swirls.
You have to keep in mind that ceramic coatings are semi permanent (well for a a year or 2), so i would only go down that route if your paintwork is top notch.
I wouldn’t be ceramic coating my car without having a full machine polish and detail first to eliminate any swirls and defects as much as I can.
Sorry I can’t help much with price, if £2-300 Includes an initial detail/paint correction then that’s a very good price

Admittedly I did get a bit of a deal on the price but this was the result of £280 last week. The detailer had my car for the best part of 2 days and probably spent 8-10 hours actually working on it :

Yes thats for detailing as well. My car is pretty mint with just a few fine swirls on the roof and bonnet.
A guy at work machine polished his own car and it took a full weekend
I'll happily pay £300.

Does anyone have any recommendations for East London / Essex? I've received some quotes from detailers in London, and they are a ridiculous amount of money. Similar to you, I've got a near new car, but cannot be bothered / confident enough to do it myself.

You could try the new Autoglym ceramic coating. It’s been marketed for the home detailer and looks simple to apply. It only needs 4 hours cure time, without the need for heat lamps etc. The only downside I can see is that it only offers 12 months protection, rather than the 3 years some of the more top end coatings companies promise. There are now a few YouTubers reviewing it and it all seems positive so far. I’m paint correcting a gorgeous SL55 AMG in a few weeks and will be giving it a go then.

I've always been put off with respect to the impact on paint work when it comes to the end of its life.

Can ceramic coating be easily removed if needed with no damage to the paintwork? Or is it designed to be permanent so you have to get it done every 2/3 years (or whatever the life span is)?

What does it start to look like when it comes to the end of it's life?

I had the work done last week by a small local Spray/Repair outfit.
Paint Tech. Morley, Leeds.
Absolutely delighted with the outcome.
£200 for 3 stage Polish.
£200 for Ceramic Coating.
Unbelievable finish.

Bit of a thread resurrection, but I'm looking for recommendations to have this done in the Surrey / West Sussex / East Hampshire area please.
