I had quite a large smart repair yesterday. The chap suggested not washing it for 24 hours, but he didn't expand upon that.

I seem to recall that washing and waxing should wait more than 24 hours. Can anyone clarify please?

There is a lot of dust all over the car and I am keen to have it clean, but I don't want to mess up the repair obviously.

I was advised no to wash the wheel the on my car for 24 hours after a smart repair. As it turned out I left it a couple of days.

Personally, I'd wait as long as possible for the paint and clearcoat to harden properly, then do a proper two bucket wash.
Probably teaching you to suck eggs, but regards the dust, do as much contactless as possible before getting the wash mitt on there, i.e. rinse, snowfoam then rinse again. smile

Thing is I have time on my hands today, I may not have during the week.

Mine said you can rinse down straight away but not wash for 24 hours.

I texted the chap - I don't like doing that on Sundays - and he has said don't wash it with products for a week. Hose only today.

The smart repairer I use says don't wash for one week and don't polish/wax for one month.
