Bonnet respray looks dull
Discussion
Hope everyone is good and well
My dad had his, bonnet resprayed on a vauxhall astra. Bird poop has taken the paint off. Picked the car up a few days ago the job looked decent colour seems to be blended in with the panels. Only issue is the bonnet paint looks dull compared to the rest of the car
I have contacted the bodyshop and he has said he will polish it will this sort it??? He said it can happen due to humidity when the paint is drying

You question is legitimate and the answer is that polishing can sort out the issue. I am not sure why people are acting like such dicks on this thread and I can only apologize on behalf of the community.
Welcome to the family and ignore the pricks.

I can understand why he may not want to take it back, but that is probably the correct course of action. It sounds as though there is a problem with the clear coat. It may just require refinishing with a polisher. You shouldn't need to try to fix it yourself and you'll probably be unsuccessful anyway.
If it's been paid for it should be right. The bonnet should be the same colour and finish as the panels around it.

I think this is the part where we differ.Personally I can see no reason, or explanation, why the first course of action would not be take it back to the place that did the job for them to look at it.

I accepted substandard work on my car only this week because I haven't the time or energy to argue with an incompetent repairer. I am quite capable of doing so, but you get to a point where making it "good enough" oneself is the more sensible way forwards.
Glad you are sorted, let us know how it goes.
As for the replies; infairness while the profanity in the first reply was uncalled for, you didn't actually really make clear where you where asking or why. Just triple question marks after a reasonably simple statement from the supplier in question, nor did you highlight in any way why you might not take it back, which under usual circumstances would be the default go to action for any work you were unhappy with regardless.
