Removing vinyl marks?

Mate has just bought himself a 17 plate Ford van in black to replace his old one, that failed catastrophically. It's his only available transport.

It has some very faint vinyl marks on it from previous owner - I've not seen them in person, but selling dealer has offered to get them removed (for free), but has said they need it for a whole week. This seems a bit excessive to me.

I reckon that all it would take would be a few hours with my DAS polisher to do the job for him at the weekend, so that he can get to work during the week.

Are there any particular issues with getting rid of vinyl marks, as opposed to swirled / marked paint, which I've done successfully a couple of times now?

Are we talking about the shadowing left behind from previous sign-writing?.
If so, yes a buzz over with the DA should do the trick.
