Hi Guys,

I have just bought a 1992 Mazda Eunos MX-5. The hardtop roof had been recently resprayed by the previous owner. After washing the car, I used tar remover (Autofinesse obliTARate) to decontaminate and remove wax/polish. After stripping the polish I noticed these strange markings...

... Any idea what could of caused them? Previous bad paint job? And how could I go about covering this up that's not a respray?

Thanks

Are you taking about the shallow area's?

If so I'd say it's been sprayed over a rough uneven unprepared surface

Those 'maps of Africa' are defects that have been sprayed over, only real cure is to flat right back and refinish.

Thanks guys for your replys. Any idea on products I could use to help hide the defects in the meantime? Wax or glaze?
